Dr. Shannon Sawyer
Dr. Sawyer joins our practice after receiving his formal training in various areas of the country. He grew up in Northern Virginia and received his bachelor’s degree while attending the University of Maryland. After working with the Houston Astros Baseball Club for a few years, he then relocated to South Florida where he attended dental school at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, Dr. Sawyer worked in Newport News for two years in a practice specifically for children; it is there that he found his calling in dentistry and fell in love with providing care to the pediatric dental population.

Having a desire to expand his passion and obtain specialty training he then relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, he spent two additional years learning the specifics of providing comprehensive and quality dentistry specifically to infants, children and adolescents at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Sawyer truly enjoys meeting the families and working with each patient as an individual while addressing their questions and concerns.
When not in the office, he spends time being a father to his two children. Additionally, he enjoys playing golf and watching pretty much all sports! Dr. Sawyer looks forward to meeting and welcoming you and your family!
Dr. Summer Sawyer
Dr. Summer Sawyer is a Florida native and lived there until she graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. In dental school she was a recipient of the Health Profession Scholarship Program offered by the US Navy. As a Lieutenant, she worked two years at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and two years in Newport News on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Because of the large military population she was able to work alongside all types of dental specialists and gained vast amounts of knowledge and experience. She was honored to have a hand, albeit a small hand, in helping and treating the men and women who sacrifice so much to serve our country.

Dr. Summer moved to Philadelphia when her husband, Dr. Shannon, decided to continue his education in pediatric dentistry. While there, she worked at a Drexel University-affiliated community clinic. Dr. Summer was able to improve patients’ experiences in dental care and change their outlook on receiving dental services.
Dr. Summer offers a broad range of dental services to teens and is continually receiving education on the latest treatment options. Her goal is for each patient to have a positive experience and be happy with their smile. She is a member of the Piedmont Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She is ready to serve you and your smile.
